ROSS ELLWOOD ALBRIGHT (1931 – 2017)
Peacefully, surrounded by his family at VON – Sakura House, Woodstock on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, Ross Albright of Mt. Elgin passed away at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband and best friend for 63 years to Marjorie (Irving) Albright. Loving and caring father of Steve Albright (Karen) of Mt. Elgin, Kelley Hunt (Dave) of Ingersoll, Laureen “Chuckie” Harcourt (Graham) of Innerkip and Maureen “Mo” MacDonald (Ken) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Brianne (Chad), Janelle, Derrick (Holly), Shea (Jeff), Avril, Jordan, Jillian (Brendan), Sam, Sydney and great-grandchildren Taylor, Tristen, Taryn, Dylan, Dakota, Merle, Miller, Maitland, Manders, Jason and Jenna. Ross is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Donnajean Jefferies (Jim) of Orillia, Lois Irving of Norwich, Ruth Ann Haley of Springford and Betty Albright of Courtland. Predeceased by his sister Gertrude Vannatter, 2 brothers Wilfred Albright, Stanley Albright, sister-in-law Muriel Albright and brother-in-law Howard Vannatter. Ross was a dairy farmer and lifelong member of the Dereham Centre/Mt. Elgin communities. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #624 Dereham Lodge AF & AM. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. under the auspices of Dereham Lodge #624. The Funeral Service for Ross will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mary Dillon officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations to the Mt. Elgin United Church or VON – Sakura House would be appreciated by the Albright family.
